چکیده

Aims and objectives: Code-switching calquing are two widespread language contact phenomena in bilingual speech. While both have been discussed extensively research on the past decades, only very few studies systematically investigate code-switching of within multiword units or constructions. In our contribution, we aim at developing a more differentiated account constructions, bringing together recent usage-based psycholinguistic Construction Grammar theories modeling with cognitively oriented approaches to bilingualism. Design: We analyze discuss corpus data from Corpus Spanish Southern Arizona (CESA) first-, second-, third-generation Spanish–English speakers Arizona. Data analysis: The analysis focuses N Prep N, NN(N), Adj N/N patterns (N = noun, preposition, adjective). Findings/conclusions: highlights importance lexically specific partially fully schematic constructions as well continuum between situated closer lexical syntactic pole. Originality: Whereas sequences found play an important role (mostly first [L1]) acquisition, use, processing, speech has much less studied so far. Significance/implications: study shows that central calquing. argues may ultimately be viewed continuum, since rely similar, highly frequent, productive their interlingual correspondences for phenomena.

Multiword Units in Syntactic Parsing

The influence of MWU recognition on parsing accuracy is investigated with respect to a deterministic dependency parser based on memory-based learning. The effect of a perfect MWU recognizer is simulated through manual annotation of MWUs in corpus data used for training and testing two different versions of the parser, one which is lexicalized and one which is not. The results show a significant...

Multiword Units In An MT Lexicon

Multiword units significantly contribute to the robustness of MT systems as they reduce the inevitable ambiguity inherent in word to word matching. The paper focuses on a relatively little studied kind of MW units which are partially fixed and partially productive. In fact, MW units will be shown to form a continuum between completely frozen expression where the lexical elements are specified a...

Multiword Expressions in Child Language

The goal of this work is to introduce CHILDES-MWE, which contains English CHILDES corpora automatically annotated with Multiword Expressions (MWEs) information. The result is a resource with almost 350,000 sentences annotated with more than 70,000 distinct MWEs of various types from both longitudinal and latitudinal corpora. This resource can be used for large scale language acquisition studies...
